Study in Europe

Information on SOKRATES/ERASMUS exchange partners can be found under “Cooperation” on the individual department pages. For further information students may contact Prof. Michael Hoenisch, who is the European Academic Exchange Coordinator at the John-F.-Kennedy-Institut (Beauftragter für europäische Hochschulkooperation). Application forms are available through the Student Exchange Office of the Freie Universität Berlin.

Going abroad with ERASMUS has several advantages:

  • no tuition at the exchange university;

  • ERASMUS grants for mobility;

  • both home and exchange university support

  • full credit transfer for courses completed abroad through ECTS (European Credit Transfer System)

The Departments of the Institute accept applications from students of all curricula and all phases of their studies. Deadlines for applications are usually in January or until early February (check the  deadlines of the Departments); nominations for one of the partner universities will be sent out subsequently.
