Boris Vormann's research and teaching focus on the relationship between urbanization and globalization; urban and state theory; nations and nationalism; and changes in state-market relations in infrastructure provision. His book 'Global Port Cities in North America: Urbanization Processes and Global Production Networks' is out with Routledge (2015) and a handbook on policy and politics in the United States (Springer VS 2015) which he has coedited with Christian Lammert and Markus Siewert is available online. Additonally, Vormann is a regular commentator on public policy debates for different media outlets (including Deutsche Welle, Deutschlandfunk, and Deutschlandradio Kultur).
