The German Historical Institute Washington invites applications for two full-time Research Fellow positions in modern and contemporary history, covering the nineteenth century to the present. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2027.

The positions are based in Washington, DC, and are initially appointed for three years, with the possibility of extension.

Applications are due August 30, 2026. Interviews are expected to take place via Zoom in late September 2026.
