Workshop: "Queering America and the World," with Laura Belmonte (Oklahoma State University)
The workshop “Queering America and the World” will act as a follow-up to a much-discussed round-table published in the journal for Diplomatic History in 2016. Queer theory has long been analyzed and recuperated by historians during the last decades, but historians of diplomacy seem to have missed the train. Why is that so? Is it even possible to talk about a queer history of diplomacy and how could we use this new lens into the discipline?
We are honored to welcome Laura Belmonte from the Oklahoma State University, and we are warmly inviting you to attend her talk, which will be followed by group discussions.
If you are interested in attending the workshop, please RSVP by December 1 to Sébastien Tremblay (sebastien.tremblay@fu-berlin.de).
We are looking forward to invigorating discussions and a lot of food for thought.
