The Berlin Potsdam Research Group "The International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?”
takes great pleasure in inviting you to a public lecture by Professor Campbell McLachlan QC,
Victoria University of Wellington, on

 “Acts of State and the Principle of Legality in International Affairs”.

Campbell McLachlan is Professor at the Victoria University of Wellington with expertise in
international law. He is an associate member of the Institut de Droit International. He is an
arbitrator for the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes and for
further international arbitral bodies. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2007. He has
authored numerous books and journal articles on a range of international law subjects,
including on foreign relations law, international arbitration and private international law.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 21 June 2017, at 6.15 pm at room E34,
Law Faculty of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Bebelplatz 1, "Kommode").
