Photo, film and video recordings within the North American Studies Branch Library must be requested and approved in writing.
The written permission for recording must be presented to the library staff upon entering the library or upon request without being asked.

To receive permission and arrange a date, please send an application by e-mail with the following information:

• Content and motif of the planned recordings,
• reason for recordings,
• client,
• planned usage,
• desired date for taking the recordings,
• approximate duration of taking the recordings,
• technology to be used,
• size of the team

Furthermore, publication of recordings of any kind (e.g. online, incl. non-commercial purposes) require explicit permission from Freie Universität Berlin (depending on competence: Press and Communication (PC) or the Technical Department).

Please note:

It is not permitted to move library inventory or workstation equipment (e.g. clearing shelves, moving books or terminals at the counters or user workstations).

Recording persons who are not involved (e.g. library users and employees) is not permitted.
