Christoph Ribbat is a professor of American literature and culture at the University of Paderborn. His research explores cultural history, visual culture, and  American (non)fiction. His most recent books include  Flickering Light: A History of Neon (Reaktion Books)  and, in German, a cultural history of basketball (Wilhelm Fink). He is currently working on a book tentatively titled Intellectuals in Restaurants.
