Do you wonder about the future occasionally (or all the time), pondering what to do once you have your degree in NAS? Then fret not, my angst-ridden millennial friends, for the students have decided to take matters into their own hands!

Please take note of the fourth installment of our student-run events series called JFKInterviews!

These interactive interviews will give you the opportunity to have a chat with people who have similar academic backgrounds as us and have found amazing jobs since their graduation! The format is deliberately interactive, so you don’t just join in on another boring and meandering WebEx session where nobody read the assigned texts, ahem.

For our Session #4 on June 29. we have procured you yet another speaker to showcase how an interdisciplinary academic degree can be translated into unique and interesting career opportunities:

Please let me introduce Tanisha Vicky Germain, an activist and pedagogue with Haitian-US-American roots, that has also worked in film production as a writer, art director and production designer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies from Columbia University in New York City as well as a European Master in Intercultural Education from our very own Freie Universität Berlin. Her work as a pedagogue in Berlin focuses on linguistic and empowerment trainings as well as anti-colonial education and she is associated with the Gunda Werner Institut of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, the Bundesfachverband Unbegleitete Minderjährige Flüchtlinge as well as various NGOs and cultural institutions. If you are curious about what her work and activism is all about, check out this short clip made by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung here.

Since previous installments of JFKInterviews focused on backgrounds in the social sciences, this speaker is firmly rooted in the humanities and can offer us advice on not just how to turn such a background into a career, but also what to expect in terms of employment, networking and the like.

Sounds good? Come on, we know it sounds good. Just join us for Session #4 on Tuesday, June 29., 6pm over WebEx:
