The Journal of American-East Asia Relations, James L. Matray, Editor in Chief, gives the award to an essay in any field of the Journal‘s interest written in 2024 or 2025 by a graduate student in any country. Brill awards the winning author US$1,000 and the Journal will publish the winning article or articles in 2026.
